House System
To train our students in self-government and civic virtue, and to encourage them to strive for excellence in all areas of life - academic, athletic, and social - Founders Classical Academy of Mesquite instituted a house system in the spring of 2016.
All students were sorted into one of six different houses, led by one or two teachers who serve as the Head of House. Each house is a virtue in Greek. We wish to inspire our students to strive towards the virtue of their house and to encourage one another toward leadership on campus. Each house has a literary Guardian whose story represents the virtue of the house.

A student’s house assignment is permanent. At the beginning of the new school year, new students will be sorted into their houses in a special ceremony.
Students will earn points for their house when they succeed in the classroom or on the athletic field. Each year, the six houses will compete against each other in a series of academic and athletic competitions called the Guardian Games. Victory in the Guardian Games earns the house the Guardian Games Award, a trophy bearing the names of the houses who have earned this honor in the past. The Guardian Games Award is to be displayed in the classroom of the house’s headteacher for the entirety of the following school year.
Houses will have biweekly meetings on Fridays to conduct business and plan events. Each house is governed by a head boy and a head girl from Grades 6-10, chosen by the Heads of House for their outstanding leadership in the school.
